A lot of people complain about cab drivers, I call them cabbies, for various reasons. It’s easy to look at the negative side all the time but are you missing a huge marketing opportunity by ignoring your local cabbie?

Tip Your Cabbie

I’m not talking about a tip for the ride you got. I’m talking about tipping your local cabbies for the customers they are bringing to your business! Have you even thought about this before? There is a huge marketing opportunity driving around your local community and they know where everything is. When someone hops in their cab and asks “What can you do in this town?” how do you think they respond?

Of course it takes the right business to use this idea but if you are creative it can apply to many different areas of business. It just takes some lateral thinking and good communication with your cabbies.

This is very smart marketing at work and your net cost is… zero. You are paying for performance, if they don’t bring the customer to your door you don’t pay them… you can’t lose money in this situation.

What’s The Next Action?

So, your next step is to tell every single cabbie you ride with about your “referral” program. It’s a simple thing that can bring all sorts of “hidden” revenue…

For business people at the top of their game, strategising the growth of their companies always means thinking far outside the box!

Strategic thinking means:

branding yourself and your businesses with publicity stunts

putting together a creative financial deals that profits everyone

developing a strategy to grow a giant retail business based on family values

or just be the first to market

All these are all well-thought out business strategies, but notice: each one is conceived on the values and personality of the people involved. It could be your love of adventure or just about being the best and enjoying the “art” of the deal. Some businesses offer all their employees a share in the business which helps create a loyal employee and customer base.

Goal setting is a real important part of strategic online marketing and I will be posting about a visualization technique that will make your goal setting even more powerful and guarantee success for your strategic online marketing.

Without a strategic online marketing plan you will drown in the deep waters of online marketing and never reach your financial goals. This is not an exaggerated statement to make. There are so many people out there trying to make money online with internet marketing but you have never heard of them. This is because they don’t understand how important strategic online marketing is and how it makes the difference between a page 1 rank and a page 10 rank on Google.

Success is dependent on your initial strategic online marketing plan and your willingness to commit to the effort required for making it profitable. You can get caught up one aspect of your strategic plan and end up ignoring the other pieces. Procrastination is a killer of any business and the internet is an even bigger and easier time waster. A strategic online marketing plan needs to be clear, concise and easy to implement.

Success is dependent on your initial strategic online marketing plan and your willingness to commit to the effort required for making it profitable

Internet Marketing is a business that is no different to any other business in the offline world. You need to research your product and understand your target market.

Once you get this you then construct a method of driving your customers to your website. This is strategic online marketing.
These are important steps to building your strategic online marketing plan.

Basic Goal Setting Steps For Strategic Online Marketing

People who set and write goals have a far greater chance of achieving those goals and becoming successful than those who didn’t.

Take out a piece of paper and pen and start thinking about what you want to accomplish and by when

Write down two goals you want to accomplish by the end of the month

Now write down two tasks that will get you closer to your goal that you can finalize by the end of the week

Write two more for next week and finish those

Include goal writing into your tasks every week to improve your productivity and your bottom line.

If you want to make money online or start your own business there are some marketing ideas that have always worked for just about any market.

If you want to make money online or start your own business there are some marketing ideas that have always worked for just about any market. This list is for both the online and offline world, but if you get creative you can find ways of applying these ideas to any situation. It’s not meant to be a comprehensive list of marketing strategies, I just jotted these ideas down while I was on the mac. Think about them and how they might apply to your business.

10 Marketing Ideas

email newsletters

networking

referral programs

frequent buyer programs

free trials

public relations

search engine optimisation

online ads

invoice mailings

letterboxing

Email Newsletters

Since the birth of the internet email has existed and is the most successful way of communicating with others online. When done right newsletters create a loyal following of subscribers and, as long as your content is genuine and engaging, you can lead your subscribers to any buying proposition that you recommend.

Networking

From the offline world, networking has been the cornerstone of any business. The more people you know and the more connections you make will lead to successful business. All business is built on relationships and reputation. Bringing this concept to your online business can be a challenge but with great rewards. The advent of web 2.0 social networking sites has created massive networks that have still not reached their full potential.

Referral Programs

Personal recommendations have always worked well as a marketing strategy. Online this can take the form of viral emails, videos or affiliate sites. Working in with the networking concepts, once people start sharing with each other about what they have discovered trends can explode and millions have been made literally overnight.

Frequent Buyer Programs

This idea encourages your loyal customers to buy more. The more they buy, the more you should reward them. This has been used online successfully in the forms of bonus downloads, usually in the form of ebooks or software.

Free Trials

Another old idea that always works. Free reports, free samples, free trials. All this builds relationships and trust with new customers. Make sure that what you give away is good quality or you will destroy the relationship before it is built.

Public Relations

Many businesses have used press releases a free form of advertising. It still works today and sometimes even makes the 6:00pm news. Press releases can also be released online or just submitting articles to online article websites can also attract potential customers. Again, with articles, it has to be genuine and quality content.

Search Engine Optimisation

Learning these techniques will bring free traffic to your site. Based on the keywords that people search for in search engines, once your site is discovered in the a list of search results people will visit the site. Once they arrive at your site you need to make sure you can provide what they are looking for.

Online Ads

Advertising can work in the right areas, but most people ignore banner ads on websites these days. Video ads are more popular now but it needs to be providing some useful content before it will really attract any attention.

Invoice Mailings

If people buy from you include a promotion with the invoice that you send them. You have already gained their trust, this is a great time to build on the relationship and encourage them to participate further.

Letterboxing

Good for local business, a letterbox drop may still develop a relationship with your customers. Don’t try it in email form…. that’s called spam and is very bad.
